#2 – The Difference In Property Taxes
Typically in a neighborhood, a yearly property tax is set at a fixed percentage of a home’s total value. You can search your phone book for any local tax authority, from tax collectors to assessors, and get the information from them on the tax rate in your area.
You should make sure to not assume that whatever the seller of your home is paying on taxes will be what you pay, or that the amount you’re currently paying on your house will be it. When you move into your house, the taxes will be reassessed, and could end up being higher than you expected.
